Full service Planning & Event Design

with event designers Josiah Carr and Justin McGregor

SAMKOMA offers Full Service Planning and Event Design services to 8 couples each calendar year with Josiah as the primary point of contact, and Justin and Josiah both weighing in creatively throughout the process.

We are passionate about working with couples that respect our work as visionaries and designers, and only take on 8 couples annually in an effort to give those couples the respect and attention they deserve throughout this exciting chapter in their lives. 

Connecting with his clients on an energetic level is of upmost importance to Josiah. He believes good communication and being properly aligned with compatible personality types from the start, sets everyone up for a healthy, and productive working relationship.

Outside of weddings, SAMKOMA offers planning and design services for social events, birthdays, corporate events and retreats, and any other occasion that our clients wish to celebrate! We would love the opportunity to connect and create something beautiful for you.

FULL SERVICE PLANNING & EVENT DESIGN // THE PROCESS

When you secure SAMKOMA for full service planning and event design services, you don’t just get one planner, you get a team of three. The scope of work for your wedding is divided amongst our core team: Event Designer and Planner: Josiah Carr, Logistics and Vendor Coordinator: Brandy Dyer, and Artist: Justin McGregor, who assists with creative direction, location scouting and more.

After your inquiry has been received, our team will review your information, and then get you scheduled for an initial consultation with Josiah. We offer both virtual, and in-person consultations depending on our work and travel schedule.  Following our consult, the SAMKOMA team will send over a custom contract and quote based on our preliminary discussions. After your contract has been signed, and your deposit is paid, the fun begins!

Our Process is divided into 3 phases: Foundation, Design and Production.


Phase 1: Foundation

The foundation phase involves collecting information and learning more about you as a client, what you are envisioning, and when you are wanting to get married.

 Phase 2: Design

The design phase of the planning process is where we get to see your wedding start to take shape! We take all of the information from our foundation phase, and carefully curate an overall event design that is entirely customized to your experience.

Once you have reviewed your full design, we will make revisions as needed. In an effort to be mindful of our suppliers’ time and energies, we kindly ask that all revisions be submitted in writing within 2 weeks of the design presentation. After revisions have been made, we require you to sign off on the design, approving it, so that we can continue sourcing all of the vendors needed to build your experience from the ground up.

 Phase 3: Production

After securing all suppliers needed to execute your custom event design, we transition into the final phase of our planning process together.

SAMKOMA doesn’t have a set minimum overall budget requirement, though most couples hiring Josiah and team for Full Service Planning and Event Design have planned for a six figure event. We welcome all inquiries and depending on location, desired wedding date and guest count, we will make every effort to work within your projected budget whether that be working with Josiah and team, or working with Brandy for planning services. PLANNING Services WITH BRANDY // design consulting with josiah

Vendor and Logistics Coordinator, Brandy Dyer, offers planning services, and then brings Josiah in for design consulting only, for a limited number of clients each year. Her calendar is very limited due to her time and energy investment in Josiah’s full service clients. This being said, we have been able to offer planning services to clients who aren’t able to secure Josiah and team and have some flexibility with their wedding date. Brandy has worked closely with the SAMKOMA team for years and has executed more than 300 weddings and events. Brandy most often plans events in Nashville, Tennessee and 30A, and also plays a key role in assisting with our couples who opt for around the globe. While Brandy doesn’t offer all of the services outlined above, her clients get the same attention and respect that is offered within full service planning and event design for a more affordable price point as she offers her services as a flat fee.

This flat fee is based on day of the week, season, location, guest count, and accounts for travel costs and overall scope of work. Every quote is confidential and custom to the specifics of the event and event weekend expectations. Please contact us to have an initial custom quote produced. We would love the opportunity to connect with you, and would be honored to guide you through the planning process.

Micro-weddings

Micro-Weddings have become more popular over the past couple of years. We consider a Micro-Wedding to be a celebration with up to 50 guests. We give these couples and their guests the exact same intentional experience, just with fewer people. This is a great option for couples looking to scale back on their overall budget, while still having a super impactful wedding experience.

Our past clients who have opted for a smaller wedding, have raved about how peaceful the weekend feels, and how they were able to have so many conversations and memories created because of the limited number of guests they were entertaining. We provide the full range of our services outlined in Full Service Planning & Event Design above, and are able to work closely with these couples to include lots of intentional details.

Investment Expectation

Pricing for planning and designing a Micro-Wedding depends on time of year, location, and accounting for travel costs and overall scope of work. Please schedule an initial consultation to have a custom quote generated for your micro-wedding experience.

We had the honor of celebrating with Boys Like Girls and The Night Game’s Martin Johnson, and his beautiful bride, country recording artist Naomi Cooke Johnson. Martin and Naomi celebrated with 48 of their closest friends at a remote lakeside lodge in Maine.

Elopements

While we love an over the top wedding moment, we are also big lovers of peace, nature and intentional connections. With experience in 26 US states, and over 10 countries, we would be honored to curate the perfect elopement getaway for you. Pricing for elopement photography, planning and coordination starts at $4,000. We most often coordinate destination elopements around our travel schedules for full scale destination weddings.
