Full service Planning & Event Design

SAMKOMA offers Full Service Planning and Event Design services to 8 couples each calendar year with Josiah as the primary point of contact, and Justin and Josiah both weighing in creatively throughout the process.

We are passionate about working with couples that respect our work as visionaries and designers, and only take on 8 couples annually in an effort to give those couples the respect and attention they deserve throughout this exciting chapter in their lives. 

Connecting with clients on an energetic level is of upmost importance to us. We believe that good communication and being properly aligned with compatible personality types from the start, sets everyone up for a healthy, and productive working relationship.

Outside of weddings, SAMKOMA offers planning and design services for social events, birthdays, corporate events and retreats, and any other occasion that our clients wish to celebrate! We would love the opportunity to connect and create something beautiful for you.


FULL SERVICE PLANNING & EVENT DESIGN // THE PROCESS

When you secure SAMKOMA for full service planning and event design services, you don’t just get one planner, you get a team of three. The scope of work for your wedding is divided amongst our core team: Event Designer and Planner team: Josiah Carr & Justin McGregor as well as Logistics Coordinator: Brandy Dyer.

After reviewing the below information, there will be a form where you can get an initial consultation setup with us. Following our consultion, the SAMKOMA team will send over a custom contract and quote based on our preliminary discussions. After your contract has been signed, and your deposit is paid, the fun begins!

Our Process is divided into 3 phases: Foundation, Design and Production.


Phase 1: Foundation

The foundation phase involves collecting information and learning more about you as a client, what you are envisioning, and when you are wanting to get married.

 Phase 2: Design

The design phase of the planning process is where we get to see your wedding start to take shape! We take all of the information from our foundation phase, and carefully curate an overall event design that is entirely customized to your experience. Lisa Lova is SAMKOMA’s exclusive digital renderings designer. As we discuss each part of your wedding weekend, Lisa will provide sketches to ensure that we are all aligned and on the same page.

Once you have reviewed your full design, we will make revisions as needed. In an effort to be mindful of our suppliers’ time and energies, we kindly ask that all revisions be submitted in writing within 2 weeks of the design presentation. After revisions have been made, we require you to sign off on the design, approving it, so that we can continue sourcing all of the vendors needed to build your experience from the ground up.

 Phase 3: Production

After securing all suppliers needed to execute your custom event design, we transition into the final phase of our planning process together.

Investment expectation

FULL SERVICE PLANNING & Event Design WITH Josiah & Team

PHASE 1 | FLAT FEE

SAMKOMA requires a $20,000 deposit to begin working on all services outlined in Phase 1 above. Deposit can be divided into 2 payments within 90 days of contract signing should the client deem this necessary.

Please note that holidays are subject to an increase in flat fee. Please also note that additional events will be an additional cost which will be determined based on client's needs and overall vision (ex: rehearsal dinner, welcome party, send off brunch). Venue scouting is a complimentary service therefore no discount will be offered should client already have their venue secured.

PHASE 2 & 3 | PERCENTAGE

As we move into Phase 2 of the planning process, SAMKOMA adds a 10% sourcing fee to all supplier invoices for all suppliers secured within Phase 2. When the client pays each supplier invoice directly to the supplier, the client will also pay SAMKOMA 10% of the total of each invoice.

Photography, Videography, Venue, Accommodations, Dress and Suit are all suppliers covered within phase 1, therefore SAMKOMA does not add a sourcing fee to these supplier’s totals. For all other suppliers, a 10% sourcing fee will be required. SAMKOMA doesn’t have a set minimum overall budget requirement, though most couples hiring Josiah and team for Full Service Planning and Event Design have planned for a six figure event. This being said, we welcome all inquiries and depending on location, desired wedding date and guest count, we will make every effort to work within your projected budget. TRAVEL

Travel expenses don’t apply to all weddings. All travel requirements will be reviewed with the client prior to contract signing based on the specifics and vision for their wedding. Should a client be interested in an international destination wedding, required travel compensation typically includes 2 roundtrip flights, accommodations, and transportation for a planning trip, as well as your wedding weekend. Should a client be interested in a wedding in the States, required travel compensation typically includes 2 roundtrip flights, accommodations and transportation for 2 trips as well - depending on location. All travel is booked directly by SAMKOMA after SAMKOMA has sent proof of travel costs to the client and client has approved it. Client is required to pay for travel in full within 24 hours of it being booked.

PRODUCTION FEE

SAMKOMA requires a one time production fee of $700. This is due 1 week before the wedding and covers day-of costs, parking, day-of labor or assistants and administrative duties.


METHODS OF PAYMENT

SAMKOMA accepts payments via bank transfer or zelle, checks mailed priority with tracking, or by credit card. Should client wish to pay via credit card, a 4% fee will be added to each transaction.
